Extra Curricular, Trips & Activities
Themed weeks: We will provide a themed week each term (e.g. sports week, creativity week, or cultural week). Some aspects of the curriculum such as MFL and RE will be delivered through theme weeks and assembly.
Enrichment: The school will provide a range of enrichment activities including specialist clubs (such as yoga club and climbing). Enrichment programmes will give all students an opportunity to trial new areas that may lead to enterprise, employment, further study or independence (through leisure and/or extended interests).
The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) will be offered to pupils from year 9 upwards. DofE is made up of 4 different sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. The Bronze Award will take a minimum of 6 months to complete, and the Silver Award a minimum of 12. The award enables students to show a real commitment and sense of community as they get involved with their different activities, and they will grow in responsibility as they take ownership of their award.
